3 players who could follow Idrissa Gueye to Arsenal this summer

After a disappointing season, Arsenal are likely to be extremely active on the transfer market this summer to bolster their ranks and push towards potential success in the Premier League and on the European stage.

The future’s of a number of big names at Arsenal are hanging in the balance, including that of manager Arsene Wenger, but the Gunners will be busy in the market whatever situation occurs in the months before the new campaign kicks-off.

Whilst Arsenal will be determined to keep hold of their star names, new signatures will also be targeted and The Sun has reported that Everton midfielder Idrissa Gueye is on Arsenal’s short-list following an impressive debut campaign at Goodison Park.

The Senegalese international has shown the performances to be considered one of the signings of the season following his £7.1m capture from Aston Villa and has been likened to Chelsea ace N’Golo Kante this term- and Arsenal would certainly benefit from a player of that calibre.

However, if Arsenal were to land Gueye’s services it would certainly not be the only signing of their summer and these three targets could follow the African ace to the Emirates Stadium.

Kieran Tierney

The left-side of Arsenal’s defence has disappointed this season and looked particularly weak, so it’s no surprise to see the Gunners being linked with the addition of Celtic’s 19-year-old ace Kieran Tierney- who has been scouted regularly this season.

The Daily Mirror reports Arsenal are ready to make their move for the teenager, who could become the Gunners’ leading man in this position for the foreseeable future- and it would leave the Gunners’ defence looking set for the coming years alongside the likes of 21-year-old Hector Bellerin and 24-year-old Shkodran Mustafi.

Moussa Dembele

Sticking with the Celtic theme, The Daily Mirror has also stated that Arsenal have been keeping tabs on the Scottish giant’s sensational forward Moussa Dembele this season- with the 20-year-old netting a phenomenal 29 goals in 38 games across all competitions this season.

Arsenal are crying out for a top-class forward, especially if Alexis Sanchez leaves, and French ace Dembele could be the perfect fit to make an instant impact and develop over the coming years. However, interest in his services is high and the Gunners would have to pay a high price.

Helder Costa

Outside of the top-flight, Arsenal have also been monitoring Wolves’ 23-year-old winger Helder Costa and The Sun has stated the Gunners will go toe-to-toe with Premier League leaders Chelsea this summer for the signature of the young Portuguese ace.

Costa is likely to land a move to a top side this summer and Arsenal are determined not to miss out, although the wide areas of their attack are already well stocked with the likes of Alexis Sanchez, Lucas Perez, Danny Welbeck, Alex Iwobi, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Theo Walcott.

However, speculation has suggested Perez and Oxlade-Chamberlin could look towards an exit this summer and Alexis Sanchez’ future is also under scrutiny. If those players were to leave, Arsenal would certainly need additions in this area and Costa would be a fine fit.
