4 things we learnt from Arsenal’s win over Manchester United

Arsenal fans should all be in a very good place at the start of this week, following the biggest victory over Manchester United since the 1998/1999 season.

The Gunners struck three goals in twenty minutes to secure all three points, which saw Arsene Wenger’s side rise to second in the Premier League table and state their intentions of being well amongst the contenders for glory this season.

Overall for Arsenal it was a fantastic performance that erased many concerns that people had heading into the fixture, with the Gunners coming into the game off a disappointing defeat to Olympiakos whilst United had one their last three league fixtures.

Unfortunately we’re now faced with two weeks without Arsenal as we endure another international break, before returning to action at the Emirates against Watford.

Here, we’re identifying four key things we learnt from the victory over the Red Devils- and we want to know what you learnt from the game, so comment below!

Our football is beautiful

This is something we knew before, with *that* goal against Norwich City springing to mind, but yesterday showed we are capable of beautiful football against some of the biggest sides.

A flowing attacking move led to the first goal, which was perfectly flicked home by Alexis, before a swift attack led to the second and third. Never before have we seen a team turn a throw-in on the halfway line to a superb goal so quickly!

Fluid, mesmerising, domination.

Ozil DOES show up against the best

Heading into the game the media continued with their perception that Mesut Ozil fails to do it in the big games- which is pretty bizarre, considering he scored that fabulous free-kick against Liverpool last season.

Any doubters of Ozil talent were left looking rather silly yesterday though, as he played an integral part in the game. A goal, an assist and an all-around superb performance. He’s truly one of the best- and anyone that tries to deny it is wrong, simple!

We’re tactically sound

On our day that is. We came into the match yesterday looking for blood, struck three goals in twenty minutes and in truth should have found some more.

In the second-half though the result was in the bag. An Arsenal side of the past would have continued attacking, likely conceded on the counter and led the opponent back into the match. Not here though, Arsene Wenger called the game perfectly.

A shell-shocked United were given the opportunity to put pressure on the Gunners, who’s defence isn’t the best statistically, but Louis Van Gaal’s side couldn’t get anything going. We left them with mission impossible- and it worked!

Bellerin is amazing

I love Hector Bellerin. Hell, who doesn’t? His rise to the first-time has been astronomical and he deserves all the plaudits he gets.

Yesterday, however, he snuck under the radar. The mouthwatering displays from Alexis, Ozil, Walcott and Cazorla stole the headlines- but Bellerin was astonishing throughout, winning his personal battle with Ashley Young.

He played a crucial part in the opening goal, let us not forget, and that set us on our way. Bellerin, we salute you.
