5 Arsenal stars to watch during the international break

Arsenal enter the international break on the back of a thrilling 3-0 victory over Manchester United, leaving many disgruntled as the two-week absence of domestic football prevents any momentum being built.

Nevertheless, a number of our stars are jetting off across the globe to feature for their respective international sides and we, as Arsenal fans, should be keeping a close eye on how they perform away from North London.

With crucial fixtures coming thick and fast after the international break, Arsenal will be hoping their stars are in tip-top condition for the month ahead.

Form will be crucial in the challenging fixtures we’re faced with over the new four weeks, so @Dangaleastjohn has identified the players we should be supporting and watching over the next two weeks.

David Ospina

The international break comes at the right time for David Ospina, who will be eager to prove that he is still a top goalkeeper and that he has put his Olympiacos mistake behind him against two good teams in Peru and Uruguay.

Arsenal will need him back to full-form for the coming months, as squad rotation is likely to continue and the stopper must be prepared to come into the side in case of injury or suspension.

Thursday 8th October: Colombia v Peru (21:30 BST)
Wednesday 14th October: Uruguay v Colombia (23:00 BST)

Aaron Ramsey

Wales are within a point of a historical qualification to the Euro 2016. It will be interesting to see if Aaron Ramsey can end his goal scoring drought, especially given the fact that he will likely play in his preferred central position.

With the Welshman looking shaky in front of goal during recent games, a decent performances away with his national side will do him the world of good.

Sunday 10th October: Bosnia & Herzegovina v Wales (19:45 BST)
Tuesday 13th October: Wales v Andorra (19:45 BST)

Theo Walcott

Qualification has already been wrapped up for the Three Lions and given Walcott’s recent form, coupled with Wayne Rooney’s lack of form, it will be interesting to see if Hodgson will give Theo a run in his favoured central position.

However, he will have to compete with in-form Jamie Vardy as well as England favourite Harry Kane. If Walcott can continue his fine-form over these two fixtures, then it will give Arsenal a real boost.

Friday 9th October: England v Estonia (19:45 BST)
Monday 12th October: Lithuania v England (19:45 BST)

Alex Iwobi

Alex Iwobi has just signed a new contract with Arsenal ande showed us his great potential in pre-season, getting his first senior goal against Lyon.

His father recently spoke of Arsene Wenger’s desire to keep him at Arsenal rather than sending him on loan and Iwobi is definitely one for the future.

Who knows, maybe all it takes is an injury to a first team player for him to break in through the first team (like Bellerin and Coquelin). Anyway, these two international friendlies are great way for him to show why Wenger rates him so highly

Wednesday 7th October: Nigeria v Congo DR (19:00 BST)
Saturday 10th October: Nigeria v Cameroon

Alexis Sanchez

This man has been on fire in the last week, with 6 goals in 3 games are sure sign of Arsenal’s 2014/2015 player of the year back in form.

What is most concerning is the fact that Alexis is going into the international break nursing a slight groin injury. Arsene Wenger has said that Alexis will be eager to play for Chile, especially against Brazil. Here’s hoping he doesn’t aggravate his injury.

Friday 9th October: Chile v Brazil (00:30 BST)
Wednesday 14th October: Peru v Chile (03:15 BST)
