Arsenal missed the chance to go top of the Premier League after suffering a 2-1 defeat to Everton.

Arsene Wenger’s side lost ground without The Blues even kicking a ball after surrendering a 1-0 lead.

The Gunners took the lead thanks to a fortunate deflected free-kick by that man, Alexis Sanchez.

With Oxlade-Chamberlain on form and Sanchez playing out of his skin it looked like the points were coming back to London. Then on the stroke of half-time Leighton Baines’ cross found Seamus Coleman who headed in to equalise.

Mesut Ozil and substitute Alex Iwobi both squandered golden opportunities to put The Gunners in front and were punished late on.

Ross Barkley’s corner found Ashley Williams, who headed in for an 86th minute winner.

Arsenal will now have to pick themselves up in preparation for Sunday’s clash with Manchester City.
