Arsene Wenger is still keen on bringing Thomas Lemar to the Emirates, but will have to wait until the summer to complete a move.

Lemar, who was the subject of a £92 million bid from Arsenal last summer was phenomenal for Monaco last season.

The 22 year-old scored 14 and assisted 17 as the French side lifted the Ligue 1 title for the first time in 17 years.

Arsenal’s £92 million offer was rebuffed by Monaco on transfer deadline day last summer. It saw Alexis Sanchez’s proposed move to Man City fall through.

With Sanchez now set to depart for Man Utd and Theo Walcott having left for Everton, Wenger is looking for forwards to bolster his frontline.

Arsenal are closing in on deals for Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, however reports claim the boss remains interested in signing a young attacker this summer.

Bordeaux star Malcom has been touted, but Wenger feels Lemar could still be the better option.

The Gunners will still have to fight off interest from Liverpool should they pursuit Lemar this summer.
