AC Milan 0-2 Arsenal

Arsenal won 2-0 at the San Siro last week

Arsenal have one foot in the Europa League quarter-finals after a surprising 2-0 victory over high-flying AC Milan.

Few would have anticipated such a sturdy performance from the north Londoners who took the lead through Henrikh Mkhitayan after 15 minutes.

It was the Armenian’s first goal for the club, cutting in from the left to fire in with the aid of a deflection off Milan skipper Leonardo Bonucci.

Arsenal then doubled their lead on the stroke of half-time – Aaron Ramsey, collecting Mesut Ozil’s piercing pass through the centre of Milan’s defence to round keeper Gianluigi Donnarumma and tap in.

With two goals to take back to the Emirates, Arsenal have taken control of the tie and will be expected to progress into the next round.
