Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has revealed what impressed him the most in the win over Chelsea on Sunday.

THE LOWDOWN: SIGNIFICANT WIN

Arsenal claimed a comfortable win over Chelsea at Stamford Bridge to return to the summit of the Premier League log. It was a superb performance and Arsenal should have won more than just the solitary goal.

As much as the fans enjoyed it, Arteta was pleased with the manner by which his boys prosecuted the game and eventually nick the win.

THE LATEST: MANAGER’S DELIGHT

Mikel Arteta expressed his delight at Arsenal’s performance and mentality as they defeated Chelsea 1-0 at Stamford Bridge on Sunday.

“Well obviously we want to get back to being at the top,” Arteta said during his post-match interview.

“But obviously the competition is so difficult in this league. The job was for us, I think the challenge for us, was to come to this stage against a top team in the league and play and perform the way we done today, deserve to win the game and the boys did that.”

He added, discussing what impressed him the most: “For such a young team, the maturity that they showed, the composure they showed, the resilience and the courage to play the way we wanted to play, it was phenomenal.

“It’s easy to say before the game, but actually to do it against this opponent and these kinds of players, it’s a different story.”

THE VERDICT: EVERYONE’S JOY

Ben White stated previously that the mentality in the Arsenal team is quite different this season and it was evident against Chelsea on Sunday.

Although Arsenal dominated the contest, they could have cracked under pressure in the dying embers of the game. However, the Gunners did well defensively and the press was effective, forcing Chelsea to commit mistakes in the game and ultimately secure an important derby win.
