Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has issued an update on Bukayo Saka’s injury after Monday’s FA Cup 3-0 win at Oxford United.

THE LOWDOWN: FLATTERING SCORELINE

Arteta handed a start to a host of his regulars in the FA Cup tie at Oxford United. Saka was one of those who were listed in the game alongside Eddie Nketiah and Gabriel Martinelli.

Although Arsenal and Saka struggled in the first half, the performance went a notch higher after the break with the Gunners firing three past their League One opponent.

However, Saka, who struggled to make an impact in the game, was subbed off for Emile Smith Rowe due to a suspected injury with 15 minutes left to play.

THE LATEST: INJURY UPDATE

Mikel Arteta downplayed any injury concerns over Bukayo Saka after that win at the Kassam Stadium.

Arsenal are set to begin a run of tough fixtures as they face Tottenham in the Premier League on Sunday before facing Manchester United and then Manchester City in the FA Cup fourth round.

But Arteta has indicated that Saka is fine to feature for Arsenal in the north London derby this weekend, despite his injury on Monday.

When asked about Saka’s injury after the game, Arteta told ITV: “He’s fine”.

THE VERDICT: GOOD NEWS

Arsenal have already lost Jesus and Nelson to injury, so losing Saka as well could be devastating. It will be a great relief to Arsenal fans to have Saka on the pitch for Sunday’s blockbuster.
