Arsenal made it two wins from two in the Europa League this season after a dominant 3-0 victory over Bodo/Glimt at the Emirates Stadium.

THE LOWDOWN: STRONG FORM CONTINUES

Mikel Arteta’s side continued their strong form with a strong win in the Europa League on Thursday night. First-half goals from Eddie Nketiah and Rob Holding put the Gunners firmly in control before Fabio Vieira sealed the result with a third late on.

Predictably, Arsenal were on top in the opening stages and Nketiah came close to bending in a nice opener inside the first five minutes, instead watching as his strike whistled wide of the far post.

The home side managed to keep their clean sheet intact in stoppage time as Matt Turner’s save threatened to cross the line before it was cleared in the nick of time by Holding, who had to stretch to keep the ball out of the net in acrobatic fashion.

All in all, it was a comfortable night’s work for Arteta’s side, despite the Arsenal manager making eight changes from the starting line-up which beat Tottenham last weekend.

THE LATEST: TOP FORM IN EUROPE AS WELL

The win moves Arsenal two points clear at the top of Group A, despite having played one game fewer than Bodo and FC Zurich.

Arsenal travel to Norway to take on Bodo in their forthcoming group game next week and another victory will surely seal qualification for the Gunners to the next round, something that Mikel Arteta has stressed he would like to get done with matches to spare.

THE VERDICT: GOOD WARMUP AHEAD OF THE WEEKEND

Arsenal might have had a stroll against Bodo last night but their next opposition in Liverpool will be a very much different story on Sunday.

The Reds can take solace in the fact that they have dominated Arteta’s team in recent years, winning six of the last seven head-to-heads in the Premier League.

However, Arsenal are a much different side to what Jurgen Klopp’s men have faced before, especially at home this season, and they have proven that they are ready to take the fight to any opponent.

However, Liverpool remain a team who can ruthlessly punish any mistakes, and the result will likely be decided by moments of individual brilliance or either side capitalising on team errors or needless individual mistakes.
