Arsenal are highly confident of snapping up Brighton’s midfielder Moises Caicedo ahead of other Premier League rivals this month.

THE LOWDOWN: TRANSFER BUSINESS

The Gunners have been quite active in the final two weeks of the winter transfer window with the arrival of Leandro Trossard and Jakub Kiwior in the space of five days.

Those two new arrivals have been specifically brought in by Mikel Arteta to address the crucial areas in the team – left side of the defence and attack.

However, a midfielder still remains a priority and since missing out on a couple of players in the summer, the Gunners have been trying to sign another one this month.

THE LATEST: GUNNERS’ OPTIMISM

Arsenal are keen to make a midfield addition this month and are confident about signing Chelsea and Liverpool target Moises Caicedo.

According to Fichajes, Arsenal are quite positive about signing Caicedo before the window closes in a matter of days.

The Gunners could possibly open discussions with Brighton over a move, who might sell if the price is right. Premier League rivals, Chelsea and Liverpool have also kept tabs on the Ecuadorian’s situation.

Mikel Arteta recently told reporters he might look for new midfield options after growing concerns about Mohamed Elneny’s availability.

THE LOWDOWN: WILL PROBABLY NOT HAPPEN

21-year-old Caicedo has seen his stock risen over the past few months in the Premier League and that has seen him receive a whole lot of interest from some of the top sides in the division.

However, Brighton’s asking fee remains a problem and that could hinder a deal from happening this month. The source is also not the most reliable so this story is one that should be taken with a pinch of salt.

Meanwhile, Caicedo’s recent stance could also make a transfer not happen this month but until next summer at the very least.
