Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta is reportedly set to welcome defender Cedric Soares back from injury.

THE LOWDOWN: NO APPEARANCE

Cedric Soares is yet to make an appearance for Mikel Arteta this season. Well, he has been listed in four-match day squads this season, and the other times he’s been injured.

His latest injury came in the training before Arsenal’s 2-1 win over FC Zurich in the Europa League on September 8th. That ruled him out of the Brentford game before suffering a setback days before the North London derby.

However, a fresh report states that the defender is fit and ready to feature for the Gunners in the Europa League on Thursday.

THE LATEST: RETURN TO ACTION

Cedric Soares has reportedly recovered from his injury and is expected to be listed in the squad to face FK Bodo/Glimt on Thursday.

According to Kaya Kaynak, Soares has now fully recovered from the injury that saw him miss Arsenal’s last three games including the north London derby, and Arteta is willing to include him in the squad against Bodo/Glimt on Thursday.

If this report is anything to go by, Cedric could feature in the game as Arteta would be thinking of handing some of his key players rest ahead of the tough fixtures in the coming days.

THE VERDICT: AN OPTION

Like Arteta did in the opening game against FC Zurich in the Europa League, he might be willing to change the team entirely for this one.

Most of the first-choice players are not expected to feature in the game. Possible swaps could be Oleksandr Zinchenko for Kieran Tierney, and William Saliba for Rob Holding. Ben White could be deployed at the heart of the defence, while Soares goes into right-back, then Takehiro Tomiyasu could play at left-back.
