Arsenal are reportedly among a number of clubs monitoring Christian Pulisic’s situation at Chelsea.

THE LOWDOWN: TRANSFER EFFORTS

There has been efforts on the path of Arsenal to achieve more success in the next transfer window. Names and links have continued to come forward regarding the Premier League leaders as Mikel Arteta hopes to maintain his side’s momentum.

Having reportedly found a breakthrough with Mykhailo Mudryk, Arsenal are hoping to see some other deals over the line and there has been a link to Chelsea’s out-of-favour winger.

THE LATEST: MONITORING THE SITUATION

According to a report from ESPN, Arsenal alongside fellow Premier League clubs Newcastle United, and Manchester United have all been alerted by Christian Pulisic’s likely availability in the January transfer window.

It is believed that the player’s representatives are in the market to shop for a new club for the American, who has started just three Premier League games this season at Chelsea.

In addition, The Daily Mail also reports that Arsenal have shown keen interest, adding that Chelsea would want around £35m for the winger – who still has 18 months left on his contract.

However, The Mail also revealed that both Chelsea and Pulisic are unlikely to accept a loan move in the January window, despite ESPN insisting that it is Manchester United’s most preferred option.

On the other hand, transfer expert Fabrizio Romano seems less convinced of Arsenal’s interest in Pulisic and believes Mykhaylo Mudryk is Arsenal’s priority in the January window.

THE VERDICT: NOT THE FIT

Pulisic is a decent player, who could play on the wings or behind the striker. The problem, however, is that the American struggles to stay fit.

It won’t be a wise decision to spend on a player whose fitness isn’t assured. Instead, Arsenal should focus on Mudryk.

In the meantime, a transfer could still happen, though it seems any interest is still not strong at the moment.
