Arsenal goalkeeping legend David Seaman believes his former club could land Jude Bellingham in the summer.

THE LOWDOWN: ATTRACTING INTEREST

Jude Bellingham is on the radar of several European giants and David Seaman believes there is a strong chance the youngster could end up at Arsenal.

The 59-year-old was speaking at a fan fest organized by Budweiser in London when he made those claims.

The former Birmingham City midfielder has been the subject of transfer speculation ever since he broke through the ranks at the Championship club. A host of Premier League clubs were looking to sign him, but the teenager chose to move to Germany with Borussia Dortmund for his personal and career development.

The move has paid off wonderfully for Bellingham and the time is about right for him to return to England or make a step up in his career.

There is interest from a host of Premier League clubs still, but they have been joined by Real Madrid, who are looking to sign the young midfielder as a potential long-term replacement for the ageing Toni Kroos.

THE LATEST:  SEAMAN MAKES CLAIM AMID GROWING REPUTATION

The midfielder is now a staple of the England Three Lions side and has been one of their standout performers at the ongoing 2022 FIFA World Cup. He scored his first international goal against Iran and put in an excellent shift in the middle of the park. His performance in the draw against the USA was mooted, however, but he still has a lot of hopes riding on him.

Dortmund will be hoping to keep him beyond the current season as his performances attract more suitors. However, with his contract expiring at the end of the current season and no renewal talks in progress with the German club, it is believed he will be making his decision in the coming weeks after the World Cup.

Seaman, speaking to fans at the Budweiser fan fest, believes Arsenal are impressive enough to have a player like Jude Bellingham want to sign for them.

However, he believes that the way they end their season could play a role in landing him if they choose to go after him.

Arsenal, hopefully,” Seaman answered when asked who could land Bellingham’s signature in the summer.

“I would like to think they’ve got a realistic chance of signing him but it depends on how they finish the season.

“It’s so weird that we’re almost halfway through a season and we’ve paused it, with players still to go back. I would love to see him at Arsenal. He’s a special player. He looks like he’s been playing for England for the last 10 years. He’s so special for his age.”

THE VERDICT: KEEP AN EYE OUT

Jude Bellingham is a proper gem and will only get better with age. However, his price tag could be an hindrance to Arsenal, especially with other top clubs in the running for his signature. His signing seems rather unlikely but he remains one to look out for.
