Arsenal are set to make a major signing in the form of Declan Rice this summer, following the midfielder’s latest transfer decision.

THE LOWDOWN: SUMMER PREPARATION

Arsenal have been up and doing since the summer and are looking at getting more reinforcements later this summer.

The Gunners have already added two players this January and talks about a summer signing has been on for a while now.

Mikel Arteta’s side are confident of landing Rice in the summer to add more quality to the midfield defensive position.

THE LATEST: POLE POSITION

Arsenal are in an advantageous position to sign Declan Rice from West Ham after the central midfielder rejected Real Madrid’s pursuit.

According to reports, the England international has given word that he would be moving to the Emirates.

Rice is edging closer to leaving West Ham, as his contract with the Irons is set to expire in the summer 2024 and he is unwilling to pen an extension.

As a result, West Ham are expected to sell him for a big fee at the end of the current season, rather than selling him later.

After making the choice of Arsenal, El Nacional have now provided an update on the situation, while citing reports coming out of Spain.

The report claims interest in Rice has also emerged from Real Madrid recently. Perhaps Carlo Ancelotti sees him as an alternative to Jude Bellingham, who is most likely to sign for Liverpool.

Unfortunately for Real, there is little chance they will be able to get Rice because he is prioritizing an Arsenal switch.

THE VERDICT: GETTING CLEARER

Arsenal possibly have Rice on lockdown at the moment and will only need to agree a fee with West Ham to get their man.
