Arsenal have reportedly agreed a deal to sign Leandro Trossard from Brighton and Hove Albion.

THE LOWDOWN: WINTER BUSINESS

Arsenal have had a few disappointments in the window this January and needed to add more reinforcement to the current squad.

The likes of João Felix and Mudryk moved elsewhere instead of the Emirates and that left Arteta’s winter business hanging in the balance.

However, a report has emerged that a proven Premier League star is on his way to the Emirates after an agreement was reached.

THE LATEST: AGREEMENT

Arsenal have agreed a £27 million transfer fee with Brighton for Leandro Trossard, according to reports.

Trossard, who is out of contract at the end of this season, has already agreed personal terms with the Gunners.

And according to The Athletic, a fee has been agreed upon between Arsenal and Brighton for the 28-year-old to make the move this month.

As per the same report, Arsenal have agreed to pay £21m up front, plus a further £6m in add-ons.

Trossard has scored seven goals and two assists in the Premier League for Brighton this season but has been pushing for a move away from the Amex.

Earlier this month, Arsenal’s rivals Tottenham offered a £12m fee for Trossard but Brighton rejected Spurs’ approach and were holding out for a figure in the region of £30m.

Trossard, meanwhile, has been frozen out at Brighton after a fallout with head coach Roberto De Zerbi, but will now complete a move to Arsenal in the coming hours.

THE VERDICT: GOOD SIGNING

Arsenal have snapped up a proven Premier League star who can play across the front three. He comes with rich experience in the top-flight and will offer enough cover for Mikel Arteta’s attack.
