Reports claiming that Arsenal loanee Folarin Balogun will make a permanent switch to Reims have been dismissed by a transfer expert.

THE LOWDOWN: IMPRESSIVE FORM

Folarin Balogun has found good form in France since his loan move in the summer. A move that was quite unusual, which he eventually claimed a former Arsenal man advised him about, is now proving to be the right one.

On Sunday, he continued that excellent form when he scored his sixth Ligue 1 goal of the season for Reims. His latest goal puts him joint third on the scoring charts behind Neymar and Kylian Mbappe.

His form has started generating talks about a potential permanent switch to France, but a transfer market expert has now dismissed the claims.

THE LATEST: IMPOSSIBLE MOVE

According to Robin Bairner, reports suggesting a permanent stay for Folarin Balogun are not true, insisting that the French club can’t afford the English forward.

The Ligue 1 club’s record signing cost them €10m, a fee Arsenal will certainly not take a look at for Balogun who is in the form of his life. Bairner states clearly that the deal is not going to happen, as it’s clear Reims wouldn’t be able to afford the striker.

Although Balogun has scored six goals in eight games, it is his team’s poor disciplinary record that has let them down – a red card in six of their eight games in the league.

THE VERDICT: ARSENAL’S PLAN

Balogun came through the Academy at Arsenal and would be happy to get his chance in the first team when he returns back to London.

This current form is good for his development and could force Mikel Arteta to look at his direction next summer. Well, Arteta did say his future is at the Emirates. Hopefully, he gets to make it a reality very soon.

As for Reims, everything is going to plan for them and the young Arsenal striker and the club will be thinking of what to do with the 21-year-old before the season comes to an end.
