Gabriel Jesus has been compared to Manchester City’s Kevin De Bruyne by former Arsenal man Ray Parlour.

THE LOWDOWN: GREAT IMPACT

Gabriel Jesus only arrived at the Emirates in the summer but has been able to settle down quickly in North London. The Brazilian forward has contributed to the Gunners’ rise to the top of the league and are Christmas champions of the Premier League.

It has not been rosy though, his current run of blanks in front of goal has made a lot of fans and football followers question his position as the team’s centre forward.

However, he had been able to contribute a lot during the time to help the Gunners continue to win and stay ahead of Manchester City and other close challengers.

THE LATEST: PUNDIT’S COMPARISON

Former Arsenal man Ray Parlour says he is impressed with the contributions of Gabriel Jesus and likens him to Manchester City’s Kevin de Bruyne.

Jesus’ impact on Arsenal games is essential, and Parlour compares it to what De Bruyne does at City.

He tells Express Sports: “It all comes down to what they win and Jesus was a different sort of player for them.

“He wasn’t the main man, always had other players around him like Aguero and De Bruyne. But at Arsenal now he’s such an important player.

“He’s probably such as important to them as De Bruyne and Aguero were to City.

“I think he’s really took that on his shoulders and really enjoys being the main man. He knows he’s going to be the main man, playing every week.”

THE VERDICT: MORE TO COME

Jesus has been excellent since joining the Gunners and one can’t look past him as one of Arsenal’s best players this season. The season hasn’t been completed yet but he’s been immense so far.

Hopefully, he will return from the World Cup fit enough to continue from where he left off to lead the side to glory.
