Arsenal are reportedly going to make a move forĀ  Denzel Dumfries next summer, which could involve Takehiro Tomiyasu moving the other way to Inter.

THE LOWDOWN: INJURY STRUGGLES

Tomiyasu was snapped up last summer but has seen his time at Arsenal cut short due to multiple times with the doctors. The Japanese full-back, on his day, is difficult to play against and quite efficient in his position, but his lack of fitness has not helped his case.

Even before the start of the current season, Mikel Arteta had to use Ben White as a makeshift right back while he was injured and even when he returned, the manager didn’t bother to hand him his starting berth back immediately.

With that in mind, a report saying Arsenal could be interested in a relatively more fit player can’t be treated lightly.

THE LATEST: ON THE LOOKOUT

Arsenal are reportedly preparing to make a bid for Denzel Dumfries next summer which would see Takehiro Tomiyasu join Inter Milan in a player-plus-cash deal.

This shock report was released by Calciomercatoweb. Although Dumfries has had a difficult time at Inter, one wouldn’t expect Arsenal to give up on Tomiyasu so easily.

Meanwhile, 90min recently reported that the Nerazzurri are looking to raise funds ahead of the January window. As a result, Dumfries, who has impressed at the World Cup with the Netherlands, may be one of the players to be sold.

THE VERDICT: UNREALISTIC

The arrangement does not favour Arsenal and there are huge doubts about whether the Gunners can settle for such.

However, given that Cedric Soares could leave soon, Arsenal might be tempted to go all out for the Dutch star.

In the meantime, the chance of such a deal taking place with the numbers being mentioned is very blip.
