Arsenal striker Gabriel Jesus is not bothered by a recent lack of goals in front of goal for club and country.

THE LOWDOWN: POOR GOALSCORING FORM

Although Jesus has been quite influential in attack for Arsenal since moving to the Emirates, the forward has seen his goalscoring form dip in recent weeks.

On the other hand, the 25-year-old has contributed five goals and six assists, which has helped the Gunners climb to the summit of the Premier League log and are champions at Christmas.

Currently, he is on a run of 12 games without a goal for club and country but remains unbothered about that poor form.

THE LATEST: NOT BOTHERED

Jesus responded when he was asked about his goalscoring form, insisting he’s always about helping his side get the results and not for the goals alone.

No, I don’t think so,” Jesus replied when asked whether finishing is a problem for him, as per Apostagolos.

“We can talk about finishing, but the most appropriate thing is to talk about the chances I had. It’s different football here and at Arsenal. Even though I had a few chances and I lost, I’m sure it’s not about submitting.”

“I started the season so well and nobody was asking about it. But it’s not a problem. I’ll kick the ball into the net soon and I won’t stop again. Of course, I’m the player who should score every now and then, I’m here for the goals,” he added.

“When I’m on the field I try to score, but I also try to help.

“When we win, I’m happy too. To be honest, I’m not thinking about that. If I get a chance, I’ll score. I’m sure.”

THE VERDICT: RIGHT SPIRIT

Jesus knows the jury is out on him at the moment, coupled with the extra pressure from the fans about his form and he also recognizes his importance in Arsenal’s attack.

Just like Arteta mentioned on the subject a while ago, Jesus’ goalscoring form will come to an end soon and he has the chance to do so when Brazil face Cameroon at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar on Friday.
