According to reports, Juventus are eyeing a move for versatile Arsenal star Takehiro Tomiyasu.

THE LOWDOWN: MIXED TIME

Tomiyasu has been a good player and an asset for Arsenal in the defensive areas since he arrived from the Italian Serie A.

Unfortunately, his fitness issues have been a problem for him and for Arsenal. He lost his place at right-back to Ben White at the start of this campaign and was relegated to making substitute appearances a couple of times.

Meanwhile, the Japanese international, who has also featured at left-back for Arsenal this season, is a target for a top team in Italy.

THE LATEST: JUVENTUS’ INTEREST

Italian giants Juventus are interested in signing Takehiro Tomiyasu next summer, as they hope to make further changes to their backline.

According to Calciomercatoweb, Juventus have identified Arsenal defender Takehiro Tomiyasu and will be keen to get him in the summer.

The Bianconeri are working on making further changes to their backline and the versatile defender could be difficult to get considering his importance under Mikel Arteta.

Initially, when Arsenal decided to sign Takehiro Tomiyasu, the decision was thoroughly questioned in the media by several pundits. But the Japanese defender has silenced those critics after solid displays under Mikel Arteta at right-back.

Juventus are reportedly monitoring the 24-year-old, with the view of approaching Arsenal over a move next summer.

It will be recalled that the Serie A club also wanted Gabriel in the summer, but the defender opted to stay and signed a new deal with the Gunners.

THE VERDICT: WILD CHASE

It will be a surprise if Tomiyasu leaves Arsenal for Juventus. He gets to play when he’s fit and will just be hopeful for a clean bill of health, in order to make the desired impact under Arteta.

He is an asset in this current Arsenal team and hopefully, the Gunners will do well enough to hold off the Italians if they come with an offer.
