Arsenal starlet Marquinhos has been likened to a prominent figure of the first team squad Bukayo Saka by pundit Kevin Campbell.

THE LOWDOWN: RAVE OF THE MOMENT

Since making his debut in the win over FC Zurich last week, Marquinhos has been getting all the hype and praise for his performance in that game.

Prior to his debut, many did not know about him or his exploits but he was able to announce himself to the Arsenal fanbase in the Europa League opener.

Many accolades have come from far and wide for him and it seems there’s no stopping as a former player at the North London outfit is also impressed with what he has seen from the Brazilian youngster.

THE LATEST: SAKA COMPARISON

In his thoughts to Football Insider, Campbell argued that there isn’t much difference between Marquinhos and Bukayo Saka.

“He was Arsenal’s best player and the best player on the pitch if you ask me. For someone so young, he is strong. He has speed and man strength which is good. I thought he was direct which I like.

“Marquinhos is a little bit different to Saka but he is still as devastating. “He scored a great goal. He made up serious ground to get on the end of the cross. What a finish as well.”

THE VERDICT: EXCITING TALENT

Despite his explosive start to life at the Emirates, Marquinhos is still a very raw talent and needs a lot of fine-tuning at this stage. He arrived with a huge reputation in Brazil but it has taken him time to settle down in London. From what he has shown so far, he can be Bukayo Saka’s deputy on the right wing.

However, Arteta will have to make a decision concerning his involvement in further games but at this moment, he looks like one who could offer something tangible to the first team.
