Martin Odegaard has reiterated that there is still more work to be done, despite the Gunners’ perfect start to the campaign.

THE LOWDOWN: NEW SEASON, CHANGED ARSENAL

After a summer of key additions, the Gunners have stepped it up this season with better performances. Unsurprisingly, summer arrivals Gabriel Jesus, Oleksandr Zinchenko and returnee William Saliba have been key to the successes recorded so far.

Four games into the new season, Arsenal have already wrapped up four straight wins. A comfortable 2-0 victory over Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park on the opening day was followed up by a 4-2 victory over Leicester City at the Emirates Stadium.

Mikel Arteta’s men faced two newly promoted sides in Bournemouth and Fulham. While the Cherries were an easy opponent to deal with, the Cottagers were a tough nut to crack at the Emirates on Saturday. The Gunners had to come from a goal down, showing their resilience and fighting spirit, to beat Fulham.

THE LATEST: ODEGAARD CALLS FOR CALMNESS

As usual, following the fast start to the new campaign, fans will start dreaming but Odegaard wants everyone to be calm.

“As I said, we have to stay calm. We have to take it game by game, work hard and go for the next one. That’s the mindset.” told Sky Sports after the game.

“Yeah, it was brilliant. We knew it was going to be a tough game against this team. They are a strong team, so it’s brilliant we get three points, we fight and showed great team spirit. It’s an amazing feeling.”

The skipper also went on to praise his teammates for the response after going behind to the Cottagers.

“I think we played a really good first half, we just missed the goal and then we were a bit unlucky. That’s football, it happens and then it’s just the team’s job to lift him [Gabriel] up again. Also he shows great character to come back and score the winning goal. I think it shows the team spirit, you know. Someone makes a mistake, we lift him up and we take responsibility and we strike back.”

THE VERDICT: RIGHT MINDSET

Given the start Arsenal have made, the fans can’t be faulted for dreaming. Only four games have been played from 38, so we still have a long way to go this season.

However, taking it game by game just like Odegaard mentioned, is probably what the players and the fans need to hear at this time.

The good start clearly shows the improvement the new additions have brought and everyone will be anxious to see where the team will finish at the end of the campaign.
