Piers Morgan has suggested that Arsenal should sign Cristiano Ronaldo and pair him up with Gabriel Jesus to help the Gunners seal the Premier League title this season.

THE LOWDOWN: SHOCK OUTBURST

Cristiano Ronaldo to Arsenal? Morgan is urging Arsenal to take their chance after the Manchester United star shocked the football world.

His suggestion comes on the back of the Manchester United man’s tell-all interview with Morgan, which was released on Saturday evening.

In the interview, Ronaldo laid bare his pains, frustrations, and general thoughts about his return to Old Trafford, which he helped to make into a Theatre of Dreams for the modern football era.

The interview has all but officially severed his ties to Manchester United, especially after his comments about manager Erik ten Hag.

THE LATEST: RONALDO’S OUTBURST, MORGAN’S CLAIM

“I don’t have respect for him because he doesn’t show respect for me,” said Ronaldo.

“Some people, they don’t want me here – not only the coach but the other two or three guys. Not only this year, but last year too.

“Honestly, I shouldn’t say that. But listen, I don’t care. People should listen to the truth. Yes, I feel betrayed.”

With Ronaldo’s future now up in the air, Morgan, a fan of both Arsenal and the five-time Ballon d’Or winner, has suggested that the Premier League leaders make a move for him to provide support for Gabriel Jesus.

“Gabriel Jesus needs a scoring partner next to him, and Jesus’ heat map is so outrageous,” Morgan told talkSPORT Breakfast.

“He [Jesus] covers so much ground, actually what we [Arsenal] need is a fox in the box, a world class player with bags of experience, who has won everything, and to help us get over the line.

“I can think of somebody – Cristiano Ronaldo!

“I would take him for six-months in a heartbeat, and this idea of that Ronaldo can’t suddenly play football, I’m sorry, it’s laughable.”

THE VERDICT: NO THANKS

Arsenal are looking like genuine title challengers for the first time in well over a decade. This is down to the project Arteta has slowly built over the past three seasons, much of that centering around unity in the dressing room and a change in mentality at the club.

Ronaldo might have bags of experience and possibly little more to give but he is not just what Arsenal need at the moment, plus his presence could alter the dynamics in the dressing room.

To cap it off, he would not fit in well with Arteta’s dynamic style of play at the moment so it’s best Morgan pushes him somewhere else that isn’t the Emirates Stadium.
