Midfielder Martin Odegaard has issued a verdict on the title race, saying Arsenal are not bothered about Manchester City, but only about themselves.

THE LOWDOWN: STUNNING SEASON

It has been an incredible season for the Gunners who have shown consistency in their first 19 Premier League games of the season.

Not the sort of position many would have tipped them to be, but Mikel Arteta has been able to engineer a side doing wonders in the Premier League this term. The Gunners currently sit top with a five-point gap over champions Manchester City.

THE LATEST: ONLY ARSENAL MATTERS

Arsenal skipper Martin Odegaard has reiterated the fact that the Gunners are simply focusing on their own matches and not that of Manchester City.

“No, honestly, we don’t care about City or any other team,” Odegaard said.

“We expected them to win so that was not a big surprise and we just focused on our game, to come here and win and that’s what we did.

“The way we won this game gives us a special feeling that will help as well.

“It’s a long season. We’re just halfway through, there are many games to be played so we have to stay calm and humble. Our only focus is the next game and that’s all that matters. We have to stay focused like this.

“It’s way too far ahead to think about [the Premier League title] now.

“We have to stay in the moment, everyone should enjoy the moment. We’re doing really well but we have to stay calm, it’s a long way to go and we have to keep working and improving. Then we’ll see.”

THE VERDICT: FOCUS

Arsenal should keep focusing on themselves until they face the Citizens in the Premier League. But if the League leaders keep up their current form, City might find it hard to catch up with them.
