Arsenal skipper Martin Odegaard has given an explanation about his current form under manager Mikel Arteta.

THE LOWDOWN: UNPLAYABLE CAPTAIN

The Premier League returned on Boxing Day and Arsenal faced West Ham at the Emirates Stadium. The Gunners went behind through Said Benrahma’s penalty but it was much more different after the break.

Odegaard led from the front as he provided two assists to help the Gunners claim a massive comeback win against the Hammers in the London Derby. At the end of the game, he was easily named the man of the match after another breathtaking performance in front of the Arsenal faithful.

For the umpteenth time, the midfielder has decided to open up on what has helped him reach that level of performance.

THE LATEST: ODEGAARD’S REVELATION

Martin Odegaard believes the environment under Mikel Arteta at Arsenal is the reason behind his impressive form for the Gunners this season.

Just before the start of the season, Arteta decided to name him the team’s captain and continues to show support for his midfielder to reach new levels as a player.

What does it feel like working with Arteta? Odegaard was asked this question, and he said to Four Four Two:

“Every day, I’m learning something new. There are so many details – body position, how to control the ball – and it helps us to improve.

“He’s not just telling everyone what to do; he’s teaching us why. It helps the team to understand and to improve.”

THE VERDICT: IMPRESSIVE ARTETA

In just his first managerial job, Arteta has shown a lot of promise in the three years he has spent at Arsenal. At the moment, he is doing a superb job in leading this young squad to a Premier League title charge.

Odegaard is one of the team’s leaders and Arteta has so much belief in him. In addition, Arteta’s man-management is one major reason why many of the players are happy to work with him.
