Players like Thomas Partey, Granit Xhaka, Bukayo Saka, Gabriel Jesus, and the likes have had a wonderful start to the season and are now off the to World Cup with their respective countries.

THE LATEST: DECENT REPRESENTATION

The 2022 World Cup gets underway this weekend and many Premier League players will be on show in Qatar.

On Arsenal’s part, they are Christmas champions of the Premier League heading into the tournament and with so many players in top form, they will be hugely represented well this winter.

Bukayo Saka, Ben White & Aaron Ramsdale (England)

Saka was always going to be in Qatar and his performances over the season is a testament to that. The winger has scored four and assisted six goals this season and is sure to play big part in Qatar for Southgate’s side.

White only returned to the fold because of his performances for the Gunners in an unfamiliar role, while Ramsdale has been superb this season and has been a major player in the side’s success so far. He will have to do battle with Jordan Pickford and Nick Pope for the number one shirt.

Granit Xhaka (Switzerland)

Xhaka’s career has seen a turnaround at the Emirates and the current player of the month will be leading Switzerland to the World Cup as they look to pull off some more upsets at the Mundial.

Gabriel Martinelli & Gabriel Jesus – (Brazil)

Jesus has been excellent since the switch to the Emirates over the summer. Despite his bad run of form in front of goal, he has been given the chance to prove himself in Qatar.

Another man who will be going to his first World Cup is Martinelli. The young winger has earned his call-up after starring for Arsenal this season. It remains to be seen whether he will be given a chance on the games.

William Saliba (France)

Saliba’s call-up was never doubted. The grey area was about if he will be playing or not, but with the numerous injury concerns in the French squad, Saliba could start at the World Cup in Qatar.

Thomas Partey (Ghana)

The Ghanaian midfielder has been so good for Arsenal this season, sitting deep behind the creative players and cleaning things up. He hopes to make a mark with the Ghanaian squad in Qatar.

Takehiro Tomiyasu (Japan)

Tomiyasu’s call-up to the World Cup was only doubted because of his injury worries. If the versatile defender can put everything behind him, his country could have a great tournament.

Matt Turner (USA)

Meanwhile, Arsenal back-up goalkeeper Turner has not played much for the Gunners this term and he is expected to play a role at the World Cup with the USA.
