Arsenal will reportedly attempt to hijack any bid by Liverpool to sign Ajax midfielder Mohammed Kudus.

THE LOWDOWN: WINTER BUSINESS

Arsenal have been active across recent transfer windows and the latest indication is another busy period in the upcoming winter transfer market.

The Gunners made some quality signings in the summer, which has helped them soar to the summit of the Premier League log.

Having been linked with multiple stars in the past few months, Arteta is keenly interested in strengthening his side’s attack and midfield by January.

As per a fresh report, Arsenal would attempt to hijack a deal for a youngster who has been a revelation at the World Cup in Qatar.

THE LATEST: POSSIBLE HIJACK

According to a report by Ghanasoccernet, Arsenal will attempt to hijack any bid Liverpool makes to sign Ajax star Mohammed Kudus.

Kudus, who is with Ghana at the world cup in Qatar, has been one of the standout performers at the tournament and has scored a couple of goals for the Black stars.

By virtue of these performances, the Gunners are keen to sign the Ghana international in the January window.

According to 90min, Liverpool have been monitoring the 22-year-old for a while now, and they could be set to make a £30m move in January.

Jurgen Klopp’s side sent scouts to Qatar to monitor Kudus, whilst Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag wants to reunite with the player he managed in the Dutch league.

THE VERDICT: PROSPECT

Kudus has been superb for Ajax and Ghana this season and that has put him in the limelight. His performances might earn him a move away from Holland and Arsenal could be the right place for him unlike Liverpool.

If the asking fee won’t be exorbitant, Arsenal can go for him as Arteta hopes to add more firepower to his side’s midfield and attack.

Might be significant or not, but if the interest is genuine, the Gunners might have a secret weapon in convincing Kudus to join in the form of compatriot Thomas Partey, who is a key man under Arteta.
