Arsenal are reportedly eyeing a move for PSG star Carlos Soler in the January transfer window.

THE LOWDOWN: TRANSFER BUSINESS

Arsenal went into the World Cup break as Premier League leaders but that has not stopped Mikel Arteta from planning to bolster his side’s options.

The Gunners enjoyed an impressive start to the season and are currently top of the Premier League log going into the festive period.

Rumour mills and transfer claims here and there have seen Arsenal linked with multiple targets ahead of the winter window.

Meanwhile, it has now emerged that the North London outfit are monitoring the situation surrounding a PSG star.

THE LATEST: FRESH LINK

Arsenal has been identified as one of the clubs keen to move for PSG midfielder Carlos Soler in the winter transfer window.

Having topped the log before the World Cup break, Arsenal continue to search for reinforcements and one man who has been listed is Soler.

According to a report by France Bleu, it was revealed Mikel Arteta is an admirer of the former Valencia man and will happily add him to his squad if he is available for transfer.

Although he only just joined PSG this summer, the Spaniard has been limited to fewer minutes than he had hoped for, which could make him consider his future at the club.

THE VERDICT: DECENT FIT

Soler is a decent midfielder and PSG didn’t go all out for him for nothing. However, big moves like his own could or could not work out.

Being Spanish, Arteta’s interest is well understood and if a deal could be worked upon, the 25-year-old could be tempted to move to the Emirates.
