Arsenal goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale believes teammate William Saliba has got everything to excel at the top level.

THE LOWDOWN: WORLD CUP PLAYER

Saliba is set to play a part for France at the World Cup. He has excelled with Arsenal this season, winning accolades every now and then, but now is the time to enjoy him in the National team.

The 21-year-old has made giant leaps this year and will be hopeful of nailing a starting berth in Didier Deschamps’ star studded defence.

France are the defending champions, but they have a chunk of their winners missing due to injuries and form. This could be an opportunity for Saliba to play a role for Les Blues in his first tournament.

THE LATEST: RAMSDALE’S PRAISE

Arsenal goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale believes William Saliba has got every quality to be a top defender in the World, complimenting his work at Arsenal so far.

As revealed in a column on the Arsenal website, the goalkeeper, who has been discussing with some of his clubmates heading to the World Cup, described William Saliba as “a man-mountain.”

“He glides across the pitch, he doesn’t seem to sprint,” he told ESPN.

“He gets his big arm across people.

“He’s got everything honestly and he’s showing it on the pitch. He’s keeping some of the best strikers in the league quiet at the minute and all the credit goes to him.”

THE VERDICT: QUITE TRUE

Saliba has barely put a foot wrong in the Premier League this season, he has been excellent in everything the Gunners have done and he has scored some fine goals as well.

It is now time to face National team duty and he will be keen to make an impact in Qatar if given the chance to play.

At the moment, Saliba has been one of the Gunners’ most standout names and Ramsdale will be among those hoping it remains that way.
