Goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale has revealed the best player in the Arsenal squad in training.

THE LOWDOWN: GOOD START

Arsenal and Aaron Ramsdale have enjoyed a good start to the new Premier League. A run that has sent them to the top of the log with six wins from seven games.

The Gunners are leading the way nicely and are currently on track for a top-four finish at the end of the season. Ramsdale, who understands how important is, recently hailed the team’s new-found aggression.

As his side prepares to face rivals Tottenham in the North London derby on Saturday, the shotstopper has identified his side’s best player in training.

THE LATEST: BEST PLAYER IN TRAINING

Aaron Ramsdale, while speaking on BT Sport’s YouTube channel, has named Martin Odegaard as the best player in Arsenal training.

It was a filming segment anchored by former Liverpool striker Peter Crouch, who wanted to know the club’s best player in training. The former Bournemouth goalie named his skipper as the best, although defender Kieran Tierney had named Emile Smith Rowe as the best trainer at the club in another video earlier this month.

“Who would you say is the best trainer?” Crouch asked. “Martin Odegaard is always on it,” Ramsdale replied.

“Yeah, he’s a modern captain, he’s a modern-day captain. He’s probably one of the first five in the building and one of the last five out and on the pitch he’s never going to hide or shrink from a challenge so he’s the first person we look to.”

THE VERDICT: WORTHY LEADER

It is quite nice to see Martin Odegaard be an example in training. His exploits in games have not gone unnoticed either, as he was ranked highly by a pundit recently. The Norwegian has shown once again that Mikel Arteta made the right decision to name him skipper of the side.

Hopefully, he is going to make a return to the squad on Saturday, as Arsenal hopes to claim the bragging rights over rivals Spurs.
