Arsenal are reportedly prepared to make a return for long-term target Manuel Locatelli in the summer.
THE LOWDOWN: LONG-TERM TARGET
Arsenal have been in pursuit of the midfielder for a while now. The Gunners were even linked with a summer move for the Italian but it didn’t happen.
Since then, the north London outfit have missed out on a couple of primary targets and after Mohamed Elneny’s latest injury concern, Mikel Arteta’s side settled for Jorginho at the expense of Moises Caicedo, as Brighton played hardball in the January window.
As things stand, the North London outfit has prioritized bringing in a new midfielder in the summer. While there is a primary and secondary target, another name has come up.
THE LATEST: POSSIBLE SUMMER APPROACH
According to a report from Calciomercato, the Premier League leaders have prepared an offer for the Locatelli and they hope to sign him in the summer.
The 25-year-old could be eager to join a top-tier club at the conclusion of the campaign, especially given his experience with Juventus thus far.
He has not progressed as much as he would have liked. He might be in need of a fresh start at Arsenal right now.
THE VERDICT: LINKED WITH QUALITY PLAYERS
Arsenal have been linked with quality midfield players over the past few days since the January transfer window was shut.
Meanwhile, Declan Rice remains the priority and the likes of Your Tielemans and Manuel Locatelli are also options that could help the team greatly in the summer.
Whatever happens at the end of this season could determine the ones Arteta and the Arsenal hierarchy will be settling for.
