Arsenal’s Bukayo Saka has been included in the Football Black list of 2022, alongside other Premier League stars.

THE LOWDOWN: IMPRESSIVE 2022

Bukayo Saka enjoyed incredible success in the year under review. He won Arsenal’s player of the season for 2021/22 campaign, before winning the England men’s player of the year award ahead of the World Cup.

He was then named in the top ten of U21 players in the world before going ahead to shine at the World Cup with England until they were ousted by France in the quarterfinals in Qatar. Nevertheless, it was a fine tournament for him as he scored three goals and made one assist.

Off the pitch, he was also able to show kind gestures to kids in Nigeria in order for them to have a better life as well.

THE LATEST: RECOGNITION

Arsenal’s Bukayo Saka alongside Chelsea’s Raheem Sterling and Man Utd star Marcus Rashford have been recognized in the Football Black List 2022 for using their platform positively.

The Football Black List is an initiative to highlight the most influential black figures in the game.

The Football Black List was first published back in 2008 and looks to highlight black industry professionals who are positive influencers. The annual Football Black List recognizes the efforts of black figures working in various areas of the sport.

Overall the Football Black List is divided into eight categories: Administration, coaching and management, commercial, community, players, LGBTQ+, media and practitioners.

Other players in the category include Andre Gray and Charlotte Lynch.

THE VERDICT: WELL DESERVED

Saka did represent the Black community well on and off the pitch in 2022 and he has now been rightly rewarded for his efforts.

He has not only become a star on the pitch but is now proving to be equally influential off it as well.
