Former Arsenal defender Mikael Silvestre has shared his worry about Gabriel Jesus as the forward continues to struggle in front of goal.

THE LOWDOWN: POOR GOALSCORING FORM

Gabriel Jesus has been impactful since his move to the Emirates in the Summer. He has been one of the top performers in the North London side and has equally led the line well in their rise to the top of the Premier League log.

Although he continues to contribute a number of goals in the opening few games for Arsenal, his drought in front of goal has put him under immense criticism.

Despite his poor form, he has been able to create goals and goalscoring opportunities for his teammates.

Recently, in the game against Nottingham Forest, he was involved in three of the goals scored by Arsenal.

However, his performances have still been criticized for not getting enough goals for his side.

THE LATEST: PUNDIT’S WORRY

Mikael Silvestre was asked in a recent interview about the Arsenal team and who could be the weak link in the side. The former defender went on to identify Jesus’ lack of goals as a worry but thinks the side doesn’t rely on him for goals because of the presence of other goalscorers in the side.

“Gabriel Jesus. Not a weak link but a bit of concern for his goalscoring consistency. Because he is giving a lot to the team and sometimes, the final touch is not accurate, he is not making the right choice. Or he would force it, Silvestre told Bettingexpert.com.

“That is the only one but he is just dipping in form at the moment. But, thank god for them, they are creating chances and you have other goal-scorers. The strength of the team is going forward and scoring goals is not only on Jesus. Apart from that, I don’t see any weak parts.

THE VERDICT: A WORRY INDEED

Mikael Silvestre has made a valid point regarding Jesus and the Arsenal attack. He has been energetic and involved in Arsenal’s play all season but the goals just have to be there.

One good thing for him now is that there is a World Cup break coming, maybe that will give him ample time to return to his goalscoring form for the remainder of the season.
