Journalist Charles Watts has raised his concern after Arsenal midfielder Emile Smith Rowe suffered an injury scare.

THE LOWDOWN: DISRUPTED ARSENAL CAREER

Midfielder Emile Smith Rowe has battled injuries since his breakthrough in the first team and it has affected him several times before the current campaign.

He has made four substitute appearances this season and has not been able to play a key part in Arsenal’s strong start to the Premier League season. In fact, he has played less than 50 minutes for Mikel Arteta’s side this season.

A report emerged after the 3-1 defeat at Manchester United on Sunday, stating that the Englishman may have suffered a setback.

THE LATEST: INJURY SCARE

On the other hand, Watts, while speaking on his own YouTube channel, said the disappointed look on Smith Rowe’s face could hint at a bad injury.

He explained his reaction, saying: “The look on his face, judging by the pictures you saw – David Ornstein tweeted some pictures, he was out pitchside at that point, I think, doing something for one of the American broadcasters and he tweeted some pictures.

“You could see just how disappointed he [Smith Rowe] looked, and that’s never a good sign because players tend to know exactly how bad things are when they do injuries. So we’ll wait to see that on Smith Rowe.”

If any of this analysis is to go by, it doesn’t look good for the young midfielder.

THE VERDICT: A BIG WORRY

At just only 22 years of age, the youngster’s career has already been disrupted by a number of injuries, especially when he was at RB Leipzig. He has enjoyed a good run in the Arsenal first team before now and this isn’t the time to be battling injuries.

At this time, Mikel Arteta and the rest of the club will be hoping for a more positive update soon.
