Defender Takehiro Tomiyasu has named the Arsenal player he never likes to play against in training in his latest interview.

THE LOWDOWN: TOUGH TO BEAT GUNNERS

Arsenal have been different under Mikel Arteta this term and have proved difficult to beat over the course of the season. The Gunners have only been beaten once in the Premier League as they currently hold a five-point lead over Manchester City at the halfway stage.

Tomiyasu is one player who has been able to play a part in the incredible run and is set to continue playing a part in the North London side’s season.

THE LATEST: TOMI’S REVELATION

Takehiro Tomiyasu has named Gabriel Martinelli as the Arsenal player he never likes to come up against in Arsenal training.

The Japanese defender, who has made 24 appearances for the Gunners in all competitions this season, was speaking to Goal.com ahead of Arsenal’s trip to Everton on Saturday.

Tomiyasu was asked who he’s glad he doesn’t have to come up against in the league and he responded by saying; “Gabriel Martinelli, He never stops.

“He has pace, aggression. He’s still young, but when he has the ball he wants to make the difference, he wants to do something.”

Martinelli has been one of the best attackers in the Premier League this season. He is Arteta’s first choice on the left and has started every single league game so far. The Brazilian has seven goals and a couple of assists as well.

THE VERDICT: GOOD OBSERVATION

Tomi knows the capabilities of Martinelli and has seen him take a lot of defenders in the league to the cleaners. The Brazilians has used his trickery and pace to create goalscoring opportunities for Arsenal over the course of this campaign and could even be named in the Premier League Team of the season if the Gunners can clinch the title.
