Arsenal are planning to keep a training camp and play some friendlies during the World Cup break with the rest of the squad.

THE LOWDOWN: DIFFERENT SEASON

As against the norm, the World Cup will be held in Qatar at a time when football leagues are still active, hence, the idea of a break was introduced.

Because of the peculiarity of the Mundial in Qatar, leagues have had to rush some fixtures, and subject players to multiple games per week to compensate for the time they will go on breaks.

On the other hand, Arsenal, who have been very good this season and are hoping to sustain that momentum are thinking of staying active to an extent while the World Cup is on.

THE LATEST: CAMP PLANS

Arsenal are reportedly planning a training camp in Dubai in December, and they are currently in talks with clubs over multiple friendlies during the World Cup break.

According to the Evening Standard, Arsenal are at the final stage of their plans for the players not featuring at the World Cup this winter.

The plan is to fly to Dubai at the start of December and stay until around the middle of the month. In addition, the Gunners are already in talks over playing a friendly against another top-flight team during the trip.

Arsenal also want to play another friendly when they return to England, before facing West Ham United at the Emirates Stadium on Boxing Day when the league resumes.

THE VERDICT: GOOD MOVE

It is a smart plan to keep the team’s momentum and prepare those not going to the World Cup ahead of the resumption of the League.

Not all Arsenal players will play till the final of the World Cup and players will likely get rest after the Mundial. The most important thing is how the club is able to manage them individually.

The fringe players could play a part in Arsenal’s first few games after the World Cup, so it is important to keep them active during that period.
