Not for the first time, Arsenal have been linked with a move to sign Atletico Madrid forward, Joao Felix.

THE LOWDOWN: MULTIPLE TARGETS

Arsenal and Mikel Arteta have continued to identify players who could be of value to the team. Aston Villa’s Douglas Luiz, Juventus’ Manuel Locatelli and a host of others have been named in the past few weeks.

The target for Arteta remains a top-four finish. However, the excellent performances have seen his side remain at the top of the Premier League log for another week and the conversation about winning the title are beginning to gather momentum.

In a bid to actualize that dream, a forward who has not enjoyed his time in Spain has now been linked with a move to the Emirates.

THE LATEST: PORTUGUESE STAR LINK

Arsenal are reportedly in the race with rivals Chelsea over the possible signing of Atletico Madrid forward, Joao Felix.

As per Spanish outlet Fichajes, Joao Felix is desperate to leave Atletico Madrid in the January transfer window. And Arsenal have now joined frontrunners, Chelsea, in the 22-year-old’s chase.

Felix is unhappy at Wanda Metropolitano and believes that he is of no importance to the club anymore. As mentioned in the report, Felix has already informed his agent Jorge Mendes about finding him a new club in January.

THE VERDICT: GOOD FIT

Felix is currently unhappy at Atletico Madrid and could fancy his chances of playing in the Premier League. Moreover, Arsenal are currently top of the log and thus could be pivotal in the days ahead.

In addition, Arsenal are looking to strengthen the forward line and Felix provides the alternative and has the required skill set to thrive under Mikel Arteta. The only thing that could be a problem would be his wages, but Edu and Arteta, if convinced about the player, can make it work.
