Arsenal are reportedly exploring a Bosman move for Boubacar Kamara in the coming window as Mikel Arteta seeks a player to improve his midfield options.

THE LOWDOWN: PRE-CONTRACT TERMS

The Gunners are able to negotiate pre-contract terms with the 22-year-old, whose deal is due to expire in the summer. Marseille, who ‘desperately need‘ to reduce their wage bill, are resigned to losing the player.

Kamara is a tremendously versatile player, predominantly a defensive midfielder but can also fill in as a centre-back if needed.

The 22-year-old French utility man has enjoyed a tremendous season with Marseille, featuring 47 times across all competitions and becoming a key star in Jorge Sampaoli’s side.

Kamara’s age profile makes him a curious prospect for any top club, with the player showing his mentality by playing in some massive games for Marseille during his time at the Stade Vélodrome.

THE LATEST: EMERGED

According to Fichajes, Boubacar Kamara has emerged as an option for Arsenal to consider in the summer transfer window.

The Gunners could be looking at the 22-year-old French utility man as a financially viable option to strengthen the first-team squad due to his availability as a free agent.

Aston Villa are reportedly leading the race to sign the 22-year-old. However, with Arsenal now entering the equation, the Gunners may be looked at with a favourable eye.

THE VERDICT: ONE OF THE BEST

The £22.5m-rated maestro has been billed as “one of the best youngsters in Europe” by European football expert Alex Barker, so his signing would surely be greeted with great excitement by the Gunners fans if the club can pull it off.

His former teammate Rolando praised the player, going as far as to label him a “phenomenon” and with his market value currently sitting at £22.5m, signing the 22-year-old on a pre-contract deal would represent outstanding business.

Kamara has made 41 appearances for Marseille this season as they aim to secure second spot behind Paris Saint-Germain, and he has been a massive success during his time in France.

The Frenchman has an average score of 7.12 (via SofaScore) and has proven one of the best defensive in the French top flight, sitting fifth in the division for touches (2665), eighth for passes into the final third (182), tenth for tackles won (54) and sixth for successful pressures (40.4) (FBref) highlighting his spectacular all-round game.

The Marseille-born destroyer would add so much quality to the Gunners’ midfield, and acquiring him on a Bosman deal is an incredible no-brainer. Arsenal must act fast.
