Arsenal are interested in re-signing Serge Gnabry from Bayern Munich, Bild journalist Christian Falk claims.

THE LOWDOWN: EXIT LINKS

The sensational Bundesliga forward, out of contract in 2023, has been at the centre of exit reports recently as his club still fail to agree terms over an extension.

Bayern, as a result, are currently under some pressure and face the possibility of having to sell him for a profit in the next transfer window while they still can.

Gnabry has no shortage of Premier League suitors, with both Arsenal and Tottenham reportedly interested in his services and the Gunners are strongly looking for a return for the German superstar.

THE LATEST: FINANCIALLY UNREALISTIC

According to Bild reporter Falk, the club are keen on re-signing Gnabry from the German champions and the 26-year-old can also imagine a comeback.

However, Falk insists a deal is ‘financially unrealistic’ this summer after missing out on the Champions League.

The German has backed the Gunners to sign Gnabry on a free transfer next summer, suppose he runs down the final year of his Bayern contract.

THE VERDICT: PIPE DREAM

Regardless of the £63m-rated Germany ace entering the final year of his deal, it may still be an uphill battle to seal an agreement with the Gunners.

With no Champions League football on the horizon, it is unclear whether Gnabry would be choosing to return to north London this summer.

Also, the idea that the Gunners may be able to acquire him next year when his contract runs out is increasingly unlikely too.

Bayern Munich will certainly not allow the forward to leave without some economic gain so possibly selling him this summer looks the more smart move by the undisputed German champions.

The 26-year-old has amassed an astonishing 17 goals and ten assists in 44 appearances across all competitions thus far this term, propelling himself to phenomenal levels and becoming one of the continent’s most destructive wingers.

In 170 appearances for the German giants, he’s recorded 64 goals and 40 assists further highlighting how much he’s improved in front of goal since his early year struggles in north London.

It would indeed be a sensational return if Gnabry were to come back to the Emirates this summer, but that move may well remain a pipe dream for Arteta.

AND in other news, Arsenal target £18m-rated gem who’s the “next Mbappe”, could solve Arteta’s big issue – opinion…
