Arsenal are reportedly pushing for a third January signing in the form of Real Valladolid star Ivan Fresneda ahead of deadline day.

THE LOWDOWN: ACTIVE ARSENAL

Arsenal kicked off their business this January with the pursuit of Mudryk – a continuation of the discussion from the summer. However, the negotiations did not go as planned as the Gunners missed out on the winger.

Following that disappointment, the Premier League leaders turned their attention to Leandro Trossard – a proven Premier League Star – to help add more quality to the side’s attack. The former Brighton man was snapped up on Friday and moments later an agreement was reached for a defender.

Despite these recent buys, the Gunners are still pushing for another arrival before the end of the window.

THE LATEST: THIRD ARRIVAL?

Lately, The Athletic reported that both Arsenal and Borussia Dortmund are said to have agreed on terms with Real Valladolid for the services of  Ivan Fresneda.

And according to Daily Express journalist Ryan Taylor, Arsenal will ‘push’ to complete a deal for the 18-year-old right-back this window.

He told GIVEMESPORT, “I think it looks like Arsenal are one of the teams in the ascendancy for him [Fresneda], so I expect them to push for that deal.”

The teenage defender is expected to cost around £13.1 million if a deal is to happen.

THE VERDICT: ONE FOR THE FUTURE

The right-back position at Arsenal is well covered with Ben White and Takehiro Tomiyasu as the two candidates there, while Cedric Soares is expected to leave this month or in the summer.

The highly rated Fresneda will not be expected to start a lot of games should he move to the Emirates in the coming days, but could grow and become a star in the side in the future.
