Bayern Munich loanee Gabriel Vidovic has named Arsenal’s Martin Odegaard as one of the players he looks up to as he hopes to become a star in the future.

THE LATEST: BIG INFLUENCE

Having experienced an uncommon breakthrough in his teenage years, his time at Real Madrid did not go as expected but Martin Odegaard continued to work hard and that is really paying off now.

Since making the switch to Arsenal permanently, the Norwegian has been a huge influence on the Gunners’ team. He has shown utmost character and personality worth emulating.

Odegaard is now the captain for both club and country, and he’s unarguably one of the Premier League’s most outstanding players in the past one year.

As such, he is fast becoming a role model for young players, and Gabriel Vidovic sees him as one as well.

THE LATEST: DISTANT EMULATION

Gabriel Vidovic, whose parent club is Bayern Munich, has named both Chelsea’s Mason Mount and Arsenal’s Martin Odegaard as two players he looks up to as he hopes to become successful in the sport.

Vidovic is currently on loan at Dutch side Vitesse – a place Chelsea amongst others regularly have sent their youngsters to gain valuable experience.

Vidovic admits he looks up to the likes of Mount and Odegaard, who have also spent time on loan at the same club.

“Those are shining examples for me,” Vidovic told De Gerderlander.

“You know I admire them but I absolutely do not want to compare myself with them.

“They play at the highest level – in the Champions League and the Premier League. They are international stars.”

THE VERDICT: UNSURPRISING

Martin Odegaard has shown himself to be a cool-headed guy and a player whose influence has been felt by Mikel Arteta’s side. It was not surprising that the gaffer handed him the captain’s armband.

More emulation will come from inside and outside of the club, it is just for Odegaard to keep his head down and continue to work hard for the team like he’s always done.
