Arsenal youngster Ainsley Maitland-Niles was criticised by fans after an unconvincing display at Huddersfield Town on Saturday.
The Gunners took all three points at the John Smith’s Stadium to keep the pressure on in their chase for a place in the top four.
Maitland-Niles was slammed by some fans on social media following Arsenal’s 2-1 win.
The youngster started in midfielder for the injury ravaged Gunners on Saturday and impressed Unai Emery enough to play the full ninety minutes.
However, some fans were clearly disappointed with his performance.
And some opted to criticise Maitland-Niles, with one writing: “You lose the ball carelessly be careful when going forward especially when you play against tight teams that don’t give space away. Anyway keep fighting.”
One of his responses read: “Sorry, I’ll take it into consideration,” another: “Thanks I’ll try better brother,” and a final one: “Sorry bro, I’ll do better next game.”
His next game could well be at BATE on Thursday, as Arsenal look to progress in the Europa League in a that the bet calculator understandably has the Premier League team as heavy favourites for.
