Arsenal striker Alexandre Lacazette believes Matteo Guendouzi has all the qualities become a World Class footballer.

The 20 year-old has been driving force at the heart of Arsenal’s midfield this season.

Guendouzi, who arrived from FC Lorient in 2018 has started all eight of the club’s Premier League fixtures so far in 2019/20.

He was the catalyst in both of Arsenal’s comebacks against Tottenham and Aston Villa last month and was rewarded for being voted the club’s Player of the Month for September.

Lacazette has hailed his ‘younger brother’ and reckons he has all the hallmarks to become an elite midfielder.

‘He is like the younger brother [in the friendship group with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang]!’ Lacazette said.

Guendouzi was voted Arsenal’s Player of the Month for September

‘We all really have a good relationship, we like to work and to laugh together so it’s really good.

‘I’m really happy for Matteo, he played really well, he helped the team when we needed him, he is really improving each season so we are all really happy with his performances this month.

‘We can see that every top midfielder in the world is like this [demanding the ball and being brave in possession]. They all want to take the ball.

‘Matteo has a good ambition, he wants to be one of the best players in his position so every day he is trying to be the best and this month he showed that he can be.’

Guendouzi has made more tackles (16) and passes (461) than any other player in Arsenal’s squad so far this season highlighting his influential displays in midfield.

It’s expected he will join Granit Xhaka in the heart of the team when Arsenal take on Sheffield United on Monday night.
