After striking late against Preston in a 2-1 win in the 3rd round of the FA Cup, Arsenal go through to the next round of the competition. Arsene Wenger’s side will either play Southampton or Norwich in the 4th round, depending on the result in their replay on the south coast in a couple of weeks.

With other cup contenders such as Chelsea, Manchester United and Tottenham drawing a lower league sides on their own turf, Arsenal will be hoping underdogs Norwich can beat Southampton in the 3rd round.

Despite Norwich being a league lower than Arsenal, and not currently playing to their potential in the Championship, the FA Cup is a special competition, and many underdogs triumph the top sides.

If the Canaries do face Arsenal in the next round of the cup, Wenger will have to be cautious with his team selection as they have many threats within their team who can damage the north London side – especially on their own turf.

With that in mind, here is your complete guide to Norwich City…

Form

The current season has been an unusual one for fans at Carrow Road, with Norwich starting the campaign exceptionally, but in recent months playing poorly. The last couple of months have been hard for Alex Neil, seeing his side losing matches they really should not be.

But, of course, form goes out of the window in the FA Cup, and that is what makes the cup so thrilling to watch. On paper, this would be an easy game for the Premier League side, but Arsene Wenger knows it will be anything but from his experience.

Key Player

Norwich have a strong Championship side, with many talented players at their disposal. The one man who needs to be highlighted as a danger to Arsenal is ex-Spurs midfielder, Alex Pritchard.

The young English attacking midfielder is full of flair and a very difficult opponent to tackle. His speed and footwork is one of the best in the division and it’s obvious why he represented England at U21 and U23 level.

Arsene Wenger will have to ensure his full backs will know how Pritchard plays, otherwise they might be in for a shock.

Manager

Alex Neil is the manager of Norwich City, the second youngest manager in the Football League at 35-years-old. His win rate as the manager of the Canaries is very good, at 43% from ninety-six games in charge.

His passion and determination is to be admired at such a young age, he gave up his career as a professional footballer in 2013, retiring at the age of just 33 to go into management.

Norwich is just his second job in charge of a team, after being a player-manager at Hamilton Academical, where he had an extraordinary win rate of 55%.
