Former Arsenal star Andrey Arshavin believes Nicolas Pepe is already showing signs of blossoming into one of the best players in the Premier League.

Pepe, who arrived at the Emirates for a club record £72m struggled for much of the 2019/20 season.

The Frenchman was dropped by Unai Emery after having only found the net once by mid-December.

However, since Mikel Arteta’s appointment as head coach, improvements have been made.

And ex-Gunner Andrey Arshavin, who also operated on the wing for Arsene Wenger’s side, think Pepe has all the talent to take the Premier League by storm.

Nicolas Pepe continues to improve at Arsenal

The ex-Gunners ace said: “Pepe is a very talented player. He is very quick and a good finisher.

“Already he has done well in part.

“Maybe not as much as he could but I see the potential and he will become one of the biggest stars in the Premier League.”

Arshavin famously hit four goals at Anfield in 2009. The silky Russian made over 100 appearances for Arsenal, scoring 23 goals (2009 – 2013).
