Are Arsenal fans pointing the finger at the wrong person?

Does anyone appreciate Arsene Wenger for his ethics and staunch loyalty?

Do we forget all too easily about our brand, spanking new stadium? Or the new way of playing he brought to 1-0 Arsenal; the kind of quick witted, speedy play that once outshone all rivals?

Aren’t the players the ones to blame for messing things up time and time again? It’s hard to fathom what they were doing letting Manchester United’s Wayne Rooney and Angel di Maria have the park to themselves!

Surely we can’t blame the gaffer for Kieran Gibb’s unlucky own goal? Or our inexplicable lack of poise in front of goal against Louis van Gaal’s side?

Surely it isn’t Le Professeur’s fault that once again his resources are affected by injuries and poor form? How we miss Theo Walcott’s pace, Mathieu Debuchy’s experience, Laurent Koscielny’s pace and so on.

I feel that, should the unthinkable happen and Arsene was to leave before his contract was up, we’d find ourselves in a long rebuilding process much like last Saturday’s opponents.
