Arsenal kept a clean sheet for the first time this season as a result of their 2-0 win over Everton.

Two goals from Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette sealing the win for Unai Emery’s men.

A cagey first-half saw Sokratis forced off through injury – the Gunners now face an anxious wait to determine the severity of the problem which forced the Greek to limp off.

Arsenal came out for the second period and showed far more tenacity. Just 11 minutes in and Lacazette curled in from the edge of the box to give the Gunners the lead.

Everton barely had time to recover when they were suddenly 2-0 down thanks to Aubameyang’s close-range finish on 59 minutes – though replays showed the Gabon international was offside.

The result means Arsenal have won their last five on the bounce having lost their opening two, and sit in sixth place with Everton back in 12th.
