Arsenal have one foot in the Europa League semi-final after beating Napoli 2-0 at the Emirates.

Goals from Aaron Ramsey and Lucas Torreira’s deflected effort have put Unai Emery’s side in pole position to go through to the next round.

Boss Emery handed starts to Mesut Ozil, Aaron Ramsey, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette – the quartet are yet to lose a match in which they’ve all started this season.

Ozil and Ramsey in particular pulled out a masterclass performance as Arsenal dominated the first-half.

The second period saw a more even contest. The Italian side had their chances, while both Lacazette and and Ramsey spurned guilt-edge chances to put Arsenal further in front.

Things will no doubt be different in Naples. Napoli were grateful to goalkeeper Alex Meret for a string of saves that leaves them with hope ahead of the second leg, especially as they have only lost once at home since March 2018.
