Arsenal failed another opportunity to move into 3rd in the Premier League after going down 3-2 to Crystal Palace at the Emirates.

A dismal display at the back for Unai Emery’s men saw Palace capitalise and deal the Gunners a critical blow in their attempt to seal a return to Champions League football.

Boss Emery opted to make eight changes to his line-up after winning 1-0 away at Napoli in the Europa League on Thursday, and turned to his second string for what was expected to have been a routine afternoon against Palace.

However, goals from Christian Benteke – his first in 19 matches, Wilfried Zaha and James McArthur saw the plan spectacularly fail to come off.

Alexandre Lacazette – one of the few Arsenal star’s to register a respectable performance netted his 16th of the campaign. While Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang also scored, but the damage was already done.

Arsenal head to Wolves on Wednesday to get back on track.

Gooners, will get top four? Let us know in the comments…
