Arsenal thrashed Bournemouth 5-1 to keep up their hopes of a top four Premier League finish.

Goals from Mesut Ozil, Henrikh Mkhitaryan, Laurent Koscielny, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and substitute Alex Lacazette gave Unai Emery’s side a comfortable win at the Emirates.

Ozil started just his second league game of 2019 and showed his manager just why he’s rated so highly at the Emirates – the German wizard getting us off the mark with just four minutes on the clock.

Ozil soon turned provider. His cut-back pass to Mkhitaryan saw the winger grab his second in successive games.

The Cherries did pull one back through Lys Mousset simple finish. However, Arsenal were right back on it after the break as captain Koscielny blasted in off the post following a set-piece.

Aubameyang then grabbed his 16th of the season, before substitute Lacazette rifled home a lethal free-kick to give Arsenal an emphatic home win.

The Gunners are now just four points off bitter rivals Tottenham, who went down 2-0 to Chelsea. Saturday’s North London Derby just got ever-so-slightly more mouthwatering.
